My Meijer Trip Today

Just got home from Meijer a bit ago and got everything put away.  Today, I spent $65 (and some change) and saved $56 (and some change).  My total OOP would've been lower, but I had to spent roughly $31 on printer ink cartridges that I didn't have any coupons for.  :(  I DID get 15% off through an mPerks coupon off on general merchandise though!  I also got back (1) $2 OYNO and (1) $3 OYNO

So, this is what I got:

Capri Sun Deal

I got a deal on Capri Sun today at Kmart.  They're on sale 2/$4, and in the back of the Kmart weekly ad there's a coupon to BOGO.  You can buy 5 and get 5 free with the coupon.  That made it $10 for 10 of them, then I had $10.43 on my Shop Your Way Rewards card so I got 10 of them totally free!  I did a second set and paid OOP for them, so I paid $10 total OOP for 20 boxes of Capri Sun!

I Had A GREAT Meijer Haul Today, Complete With a Pic!

So, I knew I'd do good today at Meijer, but I didn't know just how good.  I scored 10 bottles of Clorox Green Works dish soap for $ .15 each and 2 bottles of Clorox Green Works Bathroom Cleaner for   $ .59 each!  On the way home I stopped at my mom's and gave her 2 dish soap and 1 bathroom cleaner so my picture is missing those items!  In all including taxes I spent $70.48.  I saved....$94.75!!!!! 

Also, I have to give props to my hubby today.  Instead of griping about my coupons and trying to hurry me, when I was loading up dish soap he went on down the isle and found the bathroom cleaner deal for me.  It was funny he came hustling back down the isle towards me carrying a bottle in each hand and with a smug little smile on his face.  He told me what the sale price was and showed me the peelie coupons on the bottles and asked me that made it "a good deal" or not LOL.

My Quick Dollar General Trip Today

I ran to DG today because hubby needed some pop.  We were already in the car when we decided to go, and I didn't have all of my coupons with me.  Here's what I got with the coupons I had on hand, and what I paid:

3-Nivea women's body wash: $2.75/ea, used 3-$3/1 coupons = FREE + $ .25 overage each

Aquafresh Kids toothpaste (yes, Courtney still loves this at 15yrs old lol) $1.65, used $1/1 coupon=$0.65

20oz bottle Mello Yello $1.35

Bag of dog treats $1.00

6-pack Mt Dew $2 (ridiculous price but he thought he *had* to have it)

Total OOP after tax=$4.80, Savings listed on bottom of receipt: $10.00

FREE Swiffer Sweeper Starter Kit

I wanted to tell you about the deal I snagged tonight, incase you still have the 4/3 P&G insert laying around.  There's a coupon in there for $10/1 Swiffer Sweeper starter kit, and Family Dollar has them for $10.  I was excited to get it for just the tax.  Which for me, was $ .65!

Another Good Deal I Forgot In Last Post

I forgot this one, when writing out my post.  Meijer had the Lunchable Sub Sandwich with Rice Krispy Treat (no drink) on sale 5/$5.  They had ham and cheese, and turkey and cheese to choose from.  Most of the packs, had $1/2 peelies on them, making them just $ .50 each!  I bought 10 of those.  The sub bun is made with whole grain bread, the meat and mayo that come in it are both low fat, and the portion size is just right for this to work great for a lunch or snack for Courtney where she's on a low G.I diet.  Since she's switched to taking all of her classes online and is home all day, this is a cheap way to help fill some of her hunger. All she has to do is add in a salad and/or some fruit for a lunch and the kit by itself is fine and filling for a snack!  I'm actually wishing I would've bought more of them, where I can just throw them in the freezer!

Some Of The Savings I Snagged Today!

Well, for the last 6-8 months I've really been slacking on faithfully doing coupon match-ups and using them each week for our grocery shopping.  It's time for me to buckle down (which I should have been doing all along) and start saving some money.  I made some good deals today, and thought I'd tell (and show) you about some of them.

My daughter, Nikki, is graduating from University of Denver June 4th.  We're driving down for her graduation and I'm down to 7 weeks to save an extra $900 that I need for the trip.  I have a few things up my sleeve to come up with the money, and I'll post them as I go on the blog.  The first one is using my coupons faithfully again each week.  Lately, I've been spending between $125-$150 a week on average, for our groceries and household products. 

Today, I spent $62 and change at Meijer and saved $41 and some change on my large transaction.  I first did a peanut butter transaction that I don't have added into those totals.  For the peanut butter, I did 3 transactions.  For each transaction, I purchased 3 jars of Peter Pan peanut butter.  My total for 3 jars, was $ .98.  My savings on the 3 jars, was $5.50!  We go through PB like mad.  My husband will not take anything to work with him for his lunch, except for PB&J sandwiches.  He takes 2-3 with him every. single. day.  So how in the world could I pass up getting it for $ .32666 a jar??!  Here's our 9 jars of PB.

They were on sale 3/$5.  I used 3 Meijer Meal Box coupons of $1/3 jars, plus I used 9 manufacturer coupons of $ .50/1 jar...which all doubled to $1/1 jar. 

I don't have a picture of it, but I got a bottle of Garnier Fructis Shampoo + Conditioner for $1.50.  It was on sale 2/$5.  I uploaded a $1/1 mPerks coupon to my phone number which brought it down to $1.50.

I got 2 packs of Ball Park Franks for $ .67/ea.  They were on sale 3/$5 and I used 2 $1/1 coupons that I printed from their Face Book page, which took them down to $ .67 a pack!

This evening, we ran into Rite-Aid real quick so I could look for a bottle of nail polish.  Well, before I found the nail polish, I got side tracked by a ton of make-up that was 75% or more off.  My youngest daughter Courtney, had just been complaining a few days ago that she needed some new makeup.  We all know how expensive makeup can be!  Here's what she got, minus 8 or 9 containers of mineral makeup foundation powders that she'd already taken straight upstairs to her room.  -Which btw, was $7.99/ea regular price and we paid $1.49/ea on clearance.

We paid $ .24/ea for the round containers of lip gloss, $ .59/ea for the eye liners, $1.10/ea for the 3 tubes of long-wear lipstick, and $1.99/ea for the 2 eye shadow compacts.  So, she's now set again on makeup and it didn't break my budget this time.  As a matter of fact, she should be set on makeup for the next year!! -Side Note:  I did not get MY nail polish that I originally went in for. LOL

I love downloadable games.  Particulary seek-n-find games.  I find them very relaxing, and usually play them in the evenings when the kids are in bed and the house is quiet.  My hubby has been filling in at work for the last couple months, so instead of driving during the day he works from 7pm-3am pre-loading trailers.  As a night-owl, it was easy for me to adapt to his new schedule and I fill my late nights playing these games.
